New Restaurants and Casino Floor Upgrade Will Elevate the Customer Experience in Kelowna
September 14, 2017 – Kelowna, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway) announced today its plans to introduce two of Gateway’s signature food and beverage brands to Lake City Casino Kelowna. The renovations will see the addition of MATCH Eatery & Public House (MATCH) and The Buffet, and a refresh of the gaming floor. The project will add new jobs and an estimated $3.6 Million investment to the local economy.

There are all kinds of special events and promotions taking place at the Lake City Vernon casino related to both gambling at the casino and eating out at the restaurants. The Buffet offers a special 2-for-1 meals and will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks, the Dublin My Vision Slot Tournament is taking place on March 17th, and the. January 31, 2018 – Kelowna, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway) is nearing the completion of the spectacular transformation of Lake City Casino to Playtime Casino Kelowna with a Grand Opening set for March 1. Playtime Casino will feature signature Gateway restaurants like The Buffet and MATCH Eatery & Public House. The month of May will be NONA month at Lake City Casino Vernon. They will be hosting a variety of fundraisers, such as a silent auction dinner and a BBQ in order to meet their fundraising goal. MATCH combines the welcoming and social traditions of a neighbourhood pub with the high-energy of a lively sports bar, MATCH is ideal for any occasion. This restaurant will be family-friendly, ensuring that guests of all ages will be able to enjoy the delicious and creative comfort food in the casual and upbeat atmosphere. MATCH has been introduced at Gateway’s three other Thompson Okanagan properties and has also been added to Starlight Casino New Westminster, Cascades Casino Langley, Chances Squamish and Grand Villa Edmonton.
Gateway will also introduce The Buffet to Kelowna. The Buffet offers great food at exceptional value in a casual, fun, and friendly setting. The Buffet is an occasion to indulge in a feast for your senses. An ever-changing menu highlights cuisine from around the globe and serves up something for every appetite. Taste the world with our popular theme nights featuring an array of international specialties.

The 132-seat MATCH restaurant will take over the existing Gateway 21 space. There will also be some updates to the casino floor in order to accommodate the addition. The Buffet will replace the current Grove Bistro outlet.
The construction of the new MATCH and The Buffet are set to begin this month and will open in Winter 2017. The property will remain open for business, with minimal disruption to employees and customers, during the renovations. Gateway will begin recruiting in late September to help fill the new positions. This October Gateway will celebrate 25 years in the business of entertainment. Today’s announcement is one in a series of investments Gateway is making in local economies. Other recent announcements include a proposed
$70 Million local entertainment destination in Delta that will bring up to 700 new jobs, renovations at Chances Campbell River and Chance Courtenay where they will introduce the MATCH Eatery & Public House brand in both communities, and a $15 million renovation at Grand Villa Casino Burnaby that will bring up to 75 new jobs and see the introduction of two new signature dining options.
